exist†trace — Just One

On July 19, 2016December 26, 2021 By scalesoflibraIn Blogging, TranslationLeave a comment

This track is actually harder to translate because of the way it mixes Japanese and English. After reading miko's blog about it, I've chosen to interpret it as for the most part the English words are about the unnamed "you" confronting the woman (the singers). There are places where the subject is really unclear, however. …

I love how Jyou is almost doing the GACKT "Mizerable" dance in this video. Anyway, I've been relying on the website Rock Lyric for the Japanese lyrics to exist†trace songs, as VIRGIN is the only album I have a physical copy (and thus the liner notes) of. By default, copying & printing is blocked on …

The Air Moon Ch. 4: Kagen no Tsuki, Part 9

On July 4, 2016December 25, 2021 By scalesoflibraIn Translation1 Comment

Happy Birthday to GACKT, the United States, and Steve Rogers! Is everyone enjoying the party? Anyway, this part turned out to be surprisingly short at just four pages for two days' worth of shows. The venue name may seem familiar if you recall the Hokkaido show in Part 5. Interestingly there were several of these …

exist†trace — WORLD MAKER

Classes have ended, so I'm on summer vacation for now. Whew! I'd like to get a lot of stuff done on Warped Frost this summer. To that end, I decided on a posting schedule for exist†trace song translations. I'll post one song on the 1st, 9th, and 19th of the month. Naturally. And since I …

Perhaps the only thing I like more than art is making fun of art. It comes from a place of love. ♡ When I was looking for skeleton keys for a piece (which ended up in this exhibit </shameless plug>), I bought a pack of keys with two designs. One had a crown, and the …

2016 WSU Art Education & Therapy Show

On June 18, 2016August 29, 2016 By scalesoflibraIn ArtLeave a comment

Last Thursday was the opening of this year's Art Education & Art Therapy Student Show at Wayne State University. I've got five pieces in it (three of them for sale *wink & tooth sparkle*), including the completed bookshelf I had introduced in this post. I want to do a post showing the rest of the …

A Request

I have some text in the side bar to the right there that says "A Request". It reads: "So far I've tackled some really long translation projects, and given how much work I put into them, I want these translations to stay exclusively on Warped Frost. Especially GACKT's Air Moon! I'm glad if people read …

Work in Progress: The Alchemist

On March 20, 2016April 13, 2021 By scalesoflibraIn Art, Design4 Comments

I started off the term in my Collage & Assemblage class by telling my professor straight out that I don't like my 3D pieces so I wanted to make something functional, specifically a bookcase to go into a particular corner of my room. He laughed but let me do it. Of course, I still had …

The Air Moon Ch. 4: Kagen no Tsuki, Part 8

This stop brings us to Nagoya, which will host the May 14, 2016 stop of the LAST VISUALIVE tour. "Nagoya Congress Center" is the English name of the whole convention center; "Century Hall" is the name of the specific hall where the concerts took/will take place. I don't recall if I've said this before, but …

exist†trace – RAZE

On January 24, 2016December 26, 2021 By scalesoflibraIn TranslationLeave a comment

This is a short one, and seems to be a favorite among fans who prefer the harder sound exist†trace had more consistently years ago. As usual, the lyrics are taken from Rock Lyric, and there's a translation of an excerpt from miko's blog about the song after the lyric translation. The first half of her …

A Request

Thank you for visiting Warped Frost! I hope you enjoy your time here.

So far I’ve tackled some really long translation projects, and given how much work I put into them, and the fact that I am NOT making money off of this (notice the lack of ads?) I want these translations to stay exclusively on Warped Frost. I’m glad if people read my translations, of course, and don’t mind being linked to. Same goes for my artwork and photographs.

よろしくお願いしま〜す!m(_ _)m
