Forced Perspective

On September 14, 2022December 29, 2022 By scalesoflibraIn Art, Illustration, Play Time4 Comments

I originally posted these to Twitter, the first page going up in June and the second page in July. My inspiration was that I got a little tired of seeing everyone and their grandma's poodle redraw that one image of Young Sephiroth in the Flames this past summer when Square Enix had the special FFVII …

Dressed to SLAY

If this isn't done now, it's not gonna be. XD As with the preview post before this, the images contained here might be slightly NSFW, assuming your workplace wouldn't be too keen on you looking at muscular men only slightly less scantily clad than He-man. So don't scroll any further, O ye people at work! …

Sailor Moon Redraw

On May 25, 2020 By scalesoflibraIn Illustration, Play TimeLeave a comment

Having just finished Final Fantasy VII Remake when the Sailor Moon Redraw meme took off, I knew I had to put Cloud into it. It's been a long time since I did fanart at all, and even longer since I drew Cloud, so it was slow going. Here are some work-in-progress pics, followed by my …

Ille Iterium Veniet

On November 23, 2017November 23, 2017 By scalesoflibraIn Art6 Comments

With this year being the 20th anniversary of Final Fantasy VII, I used one of my projects in printmaking last spring to pay homage to Mr. Lash Blast by Covergirl Jenova. The assignment was drypoint etching. We had to work the plate gradually, pulling prints as we went. I didn't really make good use of …

A Request

Thank you for visiting Warped Frost! I hope you enjoy your time here.

So far I’ve tackled some really long translation projects, and given how much work I put into them, and the fact that I am NOT making money off of this (notice the lack of ads?) I want these translations to stay exclusively on Warped Frost. I’m glad if people read my translations, of course, and don’t mind being linked to. Same goes for my artwork and photographs.

よろしくお願いしま〜す!m(_ _)m

Scenes from around Warped Frost

From an ice cream stand on the 参道 (sandō, the road leading up to a temple or shrine) to Dazaifu Tenmangū. They sell normal flavors & unusual flavors. Black sesame isn't that unusual, but I recommend their tofu flavored ice cream and corn flavored ice cream too. (April 2016)

In a field of snow, Polygon Figure Cloud watches Polygon Sephiroth in the distance. Both figures are seen from the back.

Umegaemochi, a kind of mochi with sweet bean paste inside and a plum mark grilled onto the outside. A specialty of Dazaifu, there are several shops on the sandō that sell it. Yum! (April 2016)

Tsuki no Matsu, the "Moon Pine" in Ueno Park. I don't know if this is the same tree ukiyo-e artist Utagawa Hiroshige depicted in his "One Hundred Famous Views of Edo" prints, or if it's that the nearby temple has been grooming different pines into this shape for hundreds of years. (May 2016)
