I just realized that Winter term classes don’t start until January 11th. Woo! I might be able to make some good progress in both my Air Moon and exist†trace projects with such a long break from school. So here’s one from the latter, keeping on with World Maker. After the Japanese & romaji lyrics is my translation, plus an excerpt from miko’s blog where she talks about this song. It’s the same blog post that I mentioned in my translation for “ANTIQUE DOLL“. And as usual, the Japanese lyrics are from Rock Lyric.

Well then, today let’s start off with “SHOOTING STAR”! The band members call it “Shoo-Staa” for short. LOL

This track is already familiar to you from the live shows. It’s a super flashy number fit to adorn the start of the second half of our new album. The motif in the intro to this track is so cool! If I do say so myself! LOL Especially how the first sound you hear going into the motif gets “greased up” one beat as it goes along! It feels really good playing it, so please, by all means, try to copy it!

And, for the first time in exist†trace history, there’s a scene in this song where no member is playing anything!

I mean the interlude during the live shows where we’re going crazy riling the audience up. The interlude moves along with purely electronic sounds, and when it ends, there’s a showy drum fill along with my guitar solo! The gap between the two has a good feel to it!

Come to think of it, I’ve got a lot of guitar solos this time around…

I also have an emotional attachment to the lyrics. If you compare human life to the long, long history of the universe, it’s a mere instant as fleeting as a shooting star. So it’s wasteful not to make right now, this very moment, shine as brightly as possible! That’s what I’m singing about.

From the point of view of the universe, humans, animals, all of us, maybe our lives are as tiny as the tip of a needle, but if you were to collect all the Life that is and ever has been since the birth of the cosmos, then that flock of needle tips would look as vast as the Milky Way itself, wouldn’t it?

Well, I’ve been going on such flights of fancy since I was a child because I’m in the Clan of Wild Dreamers. Then I became an adult, and those fantasies probably turned into this song. Wild dreams aren’t so bad.
